John Doricko is a deeply experienced global leader in the semiconductor and electronics industry, with experience that spans 30+ years in key executive roles at industry leaders such as Applied Materials, KLA-Tencor and Silicon Valley Group, as well as mid-sized companies and entrepreneurial start-ups. He has worked throughout most areas of process equipment in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, as well various device technologies, and materials supply chain companies. John's deep experience includes setting up and leading specialized wafer foundries in both advanced development and commercialization, and recently Silicon Carbide and compound semi devices, having negotiated, acquired, built a team, qualified technology and key customers for a new Silicon Carbide device foundry in Bend, Oregon. Recently John was tapped by the Department of Defense funded initiative to study and recommend a revitalized semiconductor manufacturing strategy for the United States. The CHIPS ACT was legislated to enable national security, critical infrastructure, and continued leadership in a global industry that is recognized as foundational and strategic for many of the industries of tomorrow. Passage of the CHIPS Act occurred in December, 2020, as part of the National Defense Authorization Act, and was recently fully funded, serving as a symbol + catalyst for the renewed focus the United States has placed on semiconductor and related advanced technologies.
